Aim: In the past, patients and dentists thought that the dental aesthetics could only be ensured with modifications on teeth. Together with the latest developments in the smile analysis and aesthetic design, researchers have identified the aesthetics based on facial, oral-facial, dentogingival, and dental components. The aim of this study is to evaluate the smile type (ST), smile line (SL), maxillary incisal line types (ML), and buccal corridor widths (BC) related to the smile aesthetics. Methodology : A total of 190 individuals (92 males and 98 females) aged between 18 and 25 years, living in different cities of Turkey and studying at Atatürk University, Faculty of Dentistry were included in the study. In the study, the smile types, smile lines, maxillary incisal curvatures and buccal corridor widths of the individuals were examined. Results: In the young Turkish population, the most common ST in both genders is the commissural smile, and the least common ST is the complex smile. The most common SL is the SL, and the least common SL is the high SL, and it varies by gender. While the most common ML is the convex line in both genders, the least common ML is the reverse incisal line. While the last visible maxillary tooth during the social smile is mostly the maxillary 2nd premolar tooth, it is the maxillary 2nd molar tooth at least. Aim:  Pediatricians and family doctors are at the first step in the education of parents about oral health, as well as the prevention of oral diseases and the provision of oral health in children. The aim of this study is to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and practices of pediatricians and family doctors about oral health in children. Methodology: A questionnaire consisting of 50 items was sent to pediatrician and family doctors via mail. Descriptive analysis and chi-square tests were done to analyze the data. Participation in the survey, with a total of 240 participants (58 pediatricians, 182 family doctors), was 100%. Results: It was found that pediatricians believe that they have more important role in the development of oral health and prevention of oral diseases and they are more interested in participating in the oral health program than are the family doctors. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of preheating of inlay and onlay restorations prepared from composite materials and using a CAD/CAM device on microtensile bond strength in different structures. Methodology: In this study, 90 impacted human third molar teeth unaffected by the mouth environment were used. These teeth were divided into 3 groups. MOD inlay cavity preparation was performed on all samples according to the parameters specified. For the first group, restorations were prepared using a CAD/CAM device. For the second group, a fiber-reinforced composite (EverX Posterior, GC, Tokyo, Japan) was used on the bottom of the cavity to simulate dentin structure. Restoration was then completed using the laboratory composite system (Gradia, GC, Tokyo, Japan). For the third group, restorations were completed using the laboratory composite system (Gradia, GC, Tokyo, Japan) alone. Er,Cr:YSGG laser (Fotona Laser AT Fidelis Plus III, Slovenia) was administered on all prepared restorations for surface roughening. In the cementation of the restorations, resin cement was administered with and without preheating. The prepared samples were placed in a microtensile tester, and the sticks were broken off by setting the loading speed at 1 mm/min. The prepared samples were tested for microtensile bond strength (Microtensile Tester, Bisco, Schaumburg, IL, USA). The results obtained in Newtons were divided into the surface area and converted to MPa. The results were recorded as microtensile bond strength values. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of the statistical evaluation of the microtensile bond strengths of the samples in which the adhesive cement was pre-heated (P) and not pre-heated (N) during the cementations (p>0.05). There was a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) in terms of the microtensile bond strength values between the groups in which the adhesive cement was pre-heated during the cementation of restorations. Conclusion: It was observed that exposure of the adhesive cement to preheating in the cementation of the EverX Posterior-based inlays adversely affects the bond strength. It was observed that the preheating process statistically significantly increased the bond strength in the inlays made using the Gradia composite. Preheating of the cement in the cementation of Cerasmart composite inlays produced using the CAD/CAM system did not affect the microtensile bond strength.       

Aim: The aim was to evaluate the effects of antioxidant application and delayed cementation on the bond strength of fiber posts after intracoronal bleaching. Methodology: Fifty-five maxillary central incisors were used. Root canals were enlarged using Reciproc system up to R40 instrument. Root canals were irrigated, dried with paper-points, and obturated with gutta-percha and a sealer. In 44 teeth, root canal fillings were removed 2-mm coronally and canal orificies were sealed with glass-ionomer-cement. A 37% CP gel was used to bleach the teeth. Five experimental groups were defined (n=11). G1: No bleaching, G2: Immediate FPC, G3: Immediate FPC after SA application, G4: 14-days delayed FPC, G5: 14-days delayed FPC after SA application. Push-out tests were performed. Statistical interpretations were made (α=0.05). Results: There was no significant difference among the groups in apical thirds (p>0.05). However, significant differences were detected among the groups in middle and coronal thirds (p<0.05). Conclusion: The 14-days delayed cementation seems to be a more reliable method than the SA application before FPC procedure after intracoronal bleaching. Background : The present study has been designed to compare the effect of root surface biomodification with EDTA for the treatment of buccal gingival recession with free gingival graft. Materials and methods: This randomized controlled parallel clinical trial, 34 patients of 40 existing tooth Miller Class I and Class II gingival recession were treated with free gingival graft (FGG). Forty teeth with recession were assigned randomly to receive the free gingival graft with or without the application of an EDTA gel. Pre-treatment (Day 0) and post-treatment 3. and 6. months gingival recession height(GRH), gingival recession width(GRW), probing depth (PD), clinical attachment level(CAL) and width of keratinized tissue WKT were measured. Results: In FGG+EDTA group statistically significant changes from baseline were found GRH decreased from 4.7±1.5 mm to 1.3±1.2 and WKT increased from 0.9 ± 0.9 mm to 5.5±1.8 mm. Also in FGG group, GRH decreased from 4.6±1.3 mm to 1.3±1.2 mm and WKT increased from 0.9 ± 0.7 mm to 5.4±1.5 mm. For FGG and FGG+EDTA, the average root coverage 74.14% and 69.26% was found. Conclusion: In the light of these data obtained with the root surface biomodification agent EDTA have no beneficial effect for root coverage. Aim: Generalized aggressive periodontitis (G-AgP) is the most severe and destructive form of periodontitis.It usually starts under the age of 30 and it is difficult to recover tissue health with sole periodontal treatment. In this case was to evaluate effect of full-mouth ozone treatment on clinical parameters and blood CRP levels in a G-AgP patient. Methodology: A 23 year-old male patient was diagnosed as G-AgP.Clinical attachment levels (CAL), plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI), bleeding on probing (BoP) and blood C-reactive protein (CRP) levels were recorded.Full mouth scaling and root planning and ozone application were performed. Results: Baseline mean full-mouth PI,GI scores and CAL were 3,2 and 5.2mm respectively. 42% of sites showed a CAL of 4-6mm and 26% showed ≥7mm. 72% of the sites exhibited BOP.15 teeth had CAL ≥6mm. After treatments, PI and GI scores were both 1.0.  19% of sites had 4-6mm and 16% of sites were ≥7mm CAL; 12% exhibited BOP. Six teeth had CAL ≥6mm.Baseline CRP was 9 mg/dL and increased to 34 during treatments and decreased to 2 mg/dL after 4 weeks. Conclusion: Within limitations of this case report, it could be suggested that monitoring CRP and subgingival ozone application might be beneficial in treating GAgP.    How to cite this article:  Balcı Yüce H, Uçan Yarkaç F, Tulu F. To present the clinical presence, histopathological features, and management of a rare peripheral odontogenic fibroma (POF) case. A 32-year-old male patient was referred to the clinic complaining of a localized gingival enlargement of the anterior maxillary region. Initial periodontal treatment was delivered and the patient was informed about proper oral hygiene. After the initial periodontal treatment, the lesion was surgically excised while preserving the marginal line. POF was diagnosed based on clinical and histopathological findings. Normal mechanical oral hygiene was established in the postoperative period. No recurrence was observed during this follow-up period, and the patient was included in the maintenance phase. POF was treated with local excision and the prognosis was excellent. Regular follow-ups are very important for such patients after surgery.   How to cite this article:  Alan R, Can B, Kılınç F. Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by skeletal and dental abnormalities primarily, short stature, aplasia or hypoplasia of clavicles, open fontanelles and supernumerary teeth. Heterozygous mutations of the runt related transcription factor 2 ( RUNX2 ) gene have been found in approximately 60-70% of cases leaving a large number of cases with no defined genetic cause which led us to delve into molecular mechanisms underlying CCD and thus to detect potential target genes to be explored in these patients.
